First Christian Heritage Fund:
A Legacy of Faith and Giving
When First Christian Church closed its doors in 2018, its members saw an opportunity to continue their ministry in a lasting way. After distributing most of the proceeds from their church building’s sale to local nonprofits, they established the First Christian Heritage Fund with the Community Foundation—ensuring their impact would live on for generations.
Each year, this fund supports a local nonprofit that reflects the church’s values and mission, with contributions made in the name of First Christian Church. Managed by the Community Foundation, this fund honors the church’s legacy by continuing to serve the Rome and Floyd County community.
The First Christian Heritage Fund is a testament to faith, generosity, and the power of giving beyond a lifetime.
Applicants will be reviewed during our 2025 Grant Cycle this fall.
"We have closed our doors, but other organizations will flourish from our gifts. It's a reflection of the resurrection. Our ministry will go on in a new way."
