Across the country, many community foundations are doing more than just providing funds for other charities. When the Community Foundation for Greater Rome began, we wanted to give back to the community in a way that created a legacy for years to come. A trip to Columbus, Indiana sowed the seeds of our new legacy project, Blooms on Broad.
The Community Foundation for Greater Rome has partnered with the City of Rome and several other organizations to install planters of seasonal flowers and other ornamental plants on Broad Street. These planters will add color and natural beauty to downtown Rome. These flowers will become a community asset that adds value to downtown Rome for years to come.
We are piloting Blooms on Broad at the corner of Second Avenue and Broad Street. We will be celebrating those first 12 planters at 10 am on Thursday, May 2nd at the corner of Second Avenue and Broad Street. Next, we will spend the next year working out any issues and fundraising to expand Blooms on Broad to every corner of Broad Street.
How You Can Get Involved
Join us on the corner of Second Avenue and Broad Street this Thursday, May 2nd at 10 am to celebrate the launch of Blooms on Broad.
