Organizational Culture and Vision
Open Door Children’s Home (ODCH) provides emergency and extended care for children from birth to 18 years of age. Children are placed in the home because of neglect, abandonment, sexual abuse, physical abuse, lack of supervision, truancy, lack of appropriate living arrangements or the absence of parents through illness, death, or incarceration.
ODCH is currently transitioning to provide various services to the children in their homes.
Their volunteer mentors are provided training and supervision while they work with the residents. They also can engage in opportunities like arts and crafts, spa days, garden activities, etc.
Programs
Trauma-Focused Residential Services: Open Door Home operates two facilities for children aged 12 to 21 in foster care. The agency operates two campuses located in Rome. One campus houses up to 20 girls and the other houses up to 20 boys. The majority of the children living at Open Door Home are in foster care awaiting reunification with their biological family or a adoptive placement.
