Organizational Culture and Vision

Harbor House aims to have continued service with child victims of abuse by providing their forensic interview services, advocacy services, and therapy.

To have long-term success, Harbor House wants to increase their prevention programs and therapy services.

Harbor House wants to create awareness of the importance of their services so that child victims of abuse and their caregivers begin the healing process immediately to lessen the effects of trauma on their growth in society.

Child Abuse Victim Forensic Interview: At Harbor House, interviewers specially trained in talking with children and adolescents will speak to children about the situation. The process is designed to help children feel at-ease.  The goal is to have the child leave with a feeling that he/she would come back without hesitation if they ever needed.

Child Abuse Prevention and Advocacy/Therapy: A member of Harbor House Staff will contact the caregiver a few weeks after the interview to follow-up and answer any questions, while providing any additional resources needed. They also offer on-site therapy to children/families that have come to our center for a forensic interview as part of the investigation.
