CFFGR Welcomes New Board Members and Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The Community Foundation for Greater Rome proudly announces the appointment of five dedicated local leaders to its Board of Directors. Joining the board are Jason Oyler, Lee Carter, LaDonna Collins, Chuck Shaw, and Rhea Aronhalt. Each brings a wealth of experience in specific areas of expertise that will further the Foundation’s mission of strengthening the Greater Rome community through philanthropy and strategic grantmaking.
“We are thrilled to welcome these outstanding leaders,” said Scott Smith, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Greater Rome. “As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Foundation, there is great momentum. The insight of these new members will help us specifically target the areas of greatest need in building a better Rome and Floyd County.”
The foundation also extends deep gratitude to outgoing board members John Bennett, David Lance, Mike Mathis, and David Newby for their many years of dedicated service. Their leadership and commitment have been instrumental in the Foundation’s success and growth.
Since its inception, the Community Foundation for Greater Rome has awarded almost $3 million to over 160 organizations with more than 80% staying in the Rome/Floyd County area. Our current fund size is $5.6M with over $1M in the Greater Rome Impact Fund.
To mark this significant milestone, the Foundation is planning a special focus for its upcoming grant cycle in early fall, furthering its dedication to fostering positive change in our local community.
“We are proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past decade, and we look forward to commemorating this anniversary with a grant cycle that reflects the mission and values of the visionary leaders who started this work,” said Interim Executive Director, Jennifer Scott.
